Meia Praia (Lagos)
This beach is the best for water sports enthusiasts. Extending over four kilometres, Meia Praia has one of the longest continuous sandy bays in the Algarve. Its wide-open, unsheltered nature makes it ideal for kitesurfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Many surf and water sports schools operate directly off the sand.

And Manta Rota is well off the beaten track compared to the bustling, heavily commercialised resort towns of the Central and Western Algarve.
